Adipurush Writer Manoj Muntashir Issues Public Apology, Weeks After Defending Prabhas Starrer; Says, ‘People’s Emotions Have Been Hurt’
Manoj Muntashir, who had taken it upon himself to whole-heartedly defend Adipurush and the criticisms, has now extended his apologies
Bollywood director Om Raut’s passion project Adipurush failed to generate any excitement in the hearts of the audiences. From the questionable VFX, CGI to the ‘tapori’ dialogues and over-sensationalism of all the characters, the audience as well as the critics from all the corners badly mocked the film. It is safe to say that no one held back while expressing their disappointment towards the makers of the magnum opus. Through it all the dialogue writer of the movie, Manoj Muntashir whole-heartedly defended Adipurush against the harsh criticisms.
Now, weeks after being on the receiving end of hatred for defending a project like Adipurush and many of his other controversial statements, Munatshir took to his official social media handles to extend his apologies. Sharing the heartwarming note written in Hindi and in English, he expressed that he accepts that the movie hurt people’s emotions. Talking about the impact the movie had on the audience, people were demanding a ban on the film. Netizens had also taken social media by storm to lash out at the makers for ruining the image of the mythological story. For the unversed, Adipurush was touted as India’s most expensive movie, as it was made on a budget of Rs 600 crores with an ensemble cast. An adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana, Adipurush is directed by Om Raut. The movie stars Prabhas as Ayodhya Prince Raghava, Saif Ali Khan as demon king Lankesh, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Laxmana and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman among many others in the lead roles. Produced by T- Series, the movie released on 16th June 2023 on the big screens.
